SUSTAINABILTY AT THE MAD BATTER

At The Mad Batter’s Baked Goods, sustainability isn’t a tick box. It’s about making thoughtful choices, even in the small everyday details.
Where possible, I use locally sourced ingredients, organic free range eggs and ethically sourced chocolate and cocoa, supporting suppliers who share my values and high standards. I also prioritise seasonal ingredients to reduce unnecessary food miles and keep flavours fresh and considered.
All bakes are made to order, helping minimise waste and ensure nothing is created without purpose. Offcuts are used thoughtfully and surplus is kept to a minimum because cake should be enjoyed, not discarded.
My packaging choices focus on being as responsible as possible, using recyclable and biodegradable materials wherever available and reducing single-use plastics where I can.

All paperwork is sent via email and all communication is fully digital meaning that not only is everything in one place, it makes things eco-friendly and saves on paper
In the kitchen, I work consciously to reduce energy and water consumption, using efficient processes and responsible cleaning products to lessen my overall environmental footprint.
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about continually improving, making better choices and creating beautiful cakes with care for both the people who enjoy them and the world we live in.
